WAC: Bipartisan Senate rejects EPA overreach with new WOTUS rule

Washington, D.C. (March 30, 2023) – Waters Advocacy Coalition, a broad cross-section of small businesses, farmers, and job creators, released the following statement praising broad bipartisan passage of the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to overturn the Biden administration’s finalized waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule:

“The strong bipartisan action by the U.S. Senate sends a clear message to the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers that the 2023 WOTUS rule goes too far,” said Courtney Briggs, chair of the Waters Advocacy Coalition (WAC). “The onerous regulation is a sweeping expansion of federal jurisdiction over private land that would create costly delays for America’s economic engines.

“American farmers, builders, manufacturers and small businesses deserve a clear and understandable rule that recognizes and supports their efforts to protect our nation’s valuable water resources. We implore President Biden to acknowledge the concerns of Congress and the regulated community by repealing this burdensome rule.”
