BROWNFIELD AG NEWS FOR AMERICA: WOTUS Rule Still A Threat To Farmers

Contrary to the belief of some, the controversial Waters of the U.S. Rule could still afflict farmers and landowners.

American Farm Bureau senior regulatory director Don Parrish says as litigation continues, the 2015 Obama-era rule remains a threat to agriculture.

“We need this administration to do its job right. We need it to dot its I’s and cross its T’s. And we need them to repeal this rule, or to work with Congress to get Congress to repeal it as quickly as possible. Most people think it’s been taken care of. It hasn’t.”

He describes the WOTUS rule as government overreach that will take time to withdraw.

“This is going to be a long slog to repeal the rule (and) a long slog to replace. But we’re going to be doing everything we can to make sure they do it right.”
